Welcome to the beginning.

This is an invitation for the Rainbow Family of Living Light to gather in open celebration of life, in Ethiopia, the source of the Nile. Mother Africa, the roots of humanity.

Most of us agree that humanity is presently going through a global awakening which we can see happening right before our eyes. The deeper we go with our own healing, the closer we come to returning to our natural state of unity. The next steps in this journey are taking us into the roots of our mind, unfolding the layers to reveal the mysteries of creation. Each step on this path brings even greater insight and revelation. We went from a crawl to a walk and now we are running. The sense of home is becoming clearer and clearer. With our hearts wide open we bound towards the feeling of peace that seems so familiar. Our fingertips are almost within reach, we stretch to hold hands. In the moon cycle of May travelers, healers, teachers, artisans, musicians, people from across the globe, will gather to join hands around the sacred fire. In unity we commune.

We gather as an open family, in abundance, with love and respect, for one moon cycle, 28 days, from new moon to new moon. We come to share. Music, food, skills, knowledge, healing, wisdom, freedom, happiness. All colours of the rainbow, all ages, cultures, personalities and backgrounds are welcome to participate in the co-creation of a world of magic and light. Building the kitchen, cooking, offering workshops and healing, relaxing, playing music, collecting firewood, digging shit pits, going on shopping missions and donating money to the Magic Hat to help feed the family amazing and healthy food. You decide how you contribute to the creation. We commune twice per day for food circle, a ceremonial way to enjoy our vegan meals together. If you can arrive early join the seed camp! A lot of work goes into setting up for the gathering, many hands make light work. Many hearts make light work.

What to bring:
Bowl, cup and spoon.
Sleeping arrangements.
Water proof shelters, tarpaulin.
Rope, bucket, water jug.
Flash light.
First aid, iodine, plasters.
Mosquito nets, natural repellents.
Musical instruments.
Art and craft materials.
Fabrics and decorations.
Super foods, spices and other food stuffs.
Financial contribution for the Magic Hat.
Anything you need for your camp.
Anything you feel will help the community.
Our selves, love, peace and happiness.

Location:
Wondo Genet Forestery College have a large protected forest full of monkeys and birds, they have given us permission to use an opening close to a small stream. We’ll be depending on rain water for drinking, it’s wet season so expect lots of water.

If you’re arriving in Addis Ababa you need to get to Kaleti. From the airport you can walk 10 minutes to the main road and get a microbus to Kaleti for 10 birr, the ride will take approximately 30 minutes. If you’re in the centre of Addis, Piatza, you can take a train to Saris train station for 6 birr, then a microbus for 1.5 birr or 4 birr with bags.

Kaleti
bus towards Hawassa, get off at Shashamane (88 birr, 4 hours)
Shashamane Bus Station
bajaj (3 birr, 10 minutes)
Old Manara Bus Station
big blue bus (10 birr, 45 minutes)
Wondo Genet
bajaj (5 birr, 10 birr with bags, 5 minutes)
Wabi Shebele
walk (free, 10 minutes)
Blen Lodge
walk (100 birr entry fee to protected forest, 40 minutes)
Welcome Home!

Wabi Shebele is our little town, full of beautiful people, be sure to say hello on your way through! The walk to the gathering will begin at Blen Lodge where you will find a basic map to help guide you to find the Welcome Home.

We have two main local friends helping us. Ras Lumumba (0911404644) who has a guest house in Shashamane for 100birr per person. For a little bit extra Lumumba’s bajaj can take you direct from Shashamane to his Africa coloured house in Wabi Shebele. Lumumba is a good connection for all things green. Our second friend is Tamirat (0916456957) from Wondo Genet and will be with us for the whole gathering.

The protected forest in which we are gathering is the remains of a giant forest that has been cut over the past 25 years to plant ghat. For this reason we have been asked to be really conscious of our wood consumption, dead wood being part of the life cycle of the jungle. The protected forest has an entry fee of 100 birr ($4) per person which helps support the College and the Government’s effort to replant the forest. We are also kindly being asked to remain clothed for the entirety of the gathering. Christian Orthodox, Muslim and Rastafarian communities are all banning public nudity in Ethiopia so out of respect to the culture we will remain clothed.

For more information on any aspect of the gathering you can ask the person who invited you, post on any of the Facebook groups or speak to whomever is at the Welcome Centre when you arrive.

WELCOME HOME!

St Catherine Ceremony

Right now we are just about to leave Dahab for St Catherine to do a ceremony amongst the sacred mountains. We have a meeting point just outside of St Catherine town call Fox Camp, probably camp a night. From there we will gather and move together to our ceremony location. Here is a link to the spot on Google Maps.

Cairo

After St Catherine we intend to move to Cairo to spend some time. We’re interested in doing another ceremony at the pyramids as well as checking out the Egyptian Museum and finally a psy-trance post on the 22nd.

Ethiopia

Some time in February in Ethiopia is a Rastafarian festival called Arc of the Covenant. We’ve been told that it’s a very important gathering for the Rastafarian and we feel it would be a great place to connect with Rainbow family there to give some direction on where to scout.

Loving Life

As we travel we encounter some of the most amazingly beautiful souls, see some of the most incredible sights and are being completely guided through the heart. The more love we can muster the smoother the ride well be. If you’d like to come join in on the caravan through Africa, the only person you need to ask is yourself. Would you like to join us? You can get in touch with us at any time through or Facebook group Rainbow Snowball Caravan Family.

The Magic of Istanbul | part 1

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedinmail

Some of us have been in Istanbul for 3 weeks now, myself, I arrived 4 days ago. What a beautiful city full of magic and synchronicity! It’s been a week of music, ceremony, love and connections!

The night I arrived street performers gathered in the street in front of a popular squat called Don Quixote in Kadıköy, the music was out of this world! Here is a short video and some photos:

The following night we were invited to a small breakfast cafe called Taa Van in Kadıköy to share the Rainbow spirit through a musical journey! The evening was a full power journey to the heart. We were received with so much joy, to see the reflection of love shining in everyone’s eyes really made our hearts warm!

The rest of the days have been filled with music in the streets, ferries and metro trains! Spreading love to the citizens of Istanbul! After a deep meditation at Bhakti Cafe (https://www.facebook.com/cafebhakti) and a HUGE fruit salad with tahini we went full power singing and dancing on the ferry.

One day in particular something really magical happened, we found some yerba mate and sat in the middle of a busy part of Kadıköy on the street and called “Mate circle NOW!” people started to gather around. Some didgeridoo was played and we managed to pull quite a crowd! Much happiness and mate was shared with everyone!

Much love to you all! <3

Next Stop: Mount Olympus

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedinmail

Good evening!

We’re just departing Thessaloniki for Mount Olympus. We’re planning on setting up camp for a little bit of time to allow others to catch up with us. We’re not sure yet exactly where the camp will be, but we’re hoping to find somewhere at the foot of the mountain near the ocean.

Here’s a link to Google Maps for the mountain, more exact location will hopefully be coming soon.

See you there!

Waterfalls Serbia

For all of those who want to join us we are taking some time out to do a silent retreat at some waterfalls called Vodapad Bigar Водопад Бигар near Pirot Пирот, Serbia. From Pirot follow the E-80 road towards Knjazevac Књажевац until you see waterfalls on the left, there will be a sign displaying “Izletiste Bugar Potok”. If you reach the town Kalna Кална you’ve gone too far. Once you arrive at the waterfall follow the path behind the waterfall, we are just before the monastery called Св. Онуфрије. We’ll be at this location for the next 4 days.

We’ve Arrived in Serbia

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedinmail

Early this morning the caravan crossed the border into Serbia with 19 people on board. 2 of which didn’t have passports and another 2 chose not to present theirs in solidarity with the Syrian brothers and sisters coming this way. We crossed safely and are currently cooking up our first pot of soup and chapatis.

We’re currently sitting at a petrol station just south of the border from Röszke and will be heading to a community in Kalna in the next few days. We’ll have a local phone number soon so if you’d like to join us keep an eye out for the number, we’ll post is as soon as we can.

Much love to you all! <3

Call For Help! Hungary – Serbia Border Crossing

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedinmail

There have been some visa issues with some of the people in our caravan which is leading us to Serbia through Hungary. On our way to the border we have just heard that this week they expect approximately 40,000 migrants from Syria to cross the border from Serbia into Hungary. Is this just a coincidence that we are heading in the opposite direction to these migrants? Is there such thing as a coincidence? What would happen if we convinced 40,000 refugees to join us on our caravan to the World Rainbow Gathering in Egypt? Would this not be world changing?

We are planning on doing food circles along the way to feed the hungry people, we need help with getting supplies for food. If you know anyone who has any power in Hungary or Serbia who can help us get food please let them know and put us in contact! If you’d like to send us some financial support that would be so very welcomed! Here is a link to our online magic hat for online donations.

Who wants to join us on this? We’ll be leaving Budapest tomorrow morning and we’re expecting to arrive at the border tomorrow afternoon.
